I am a Birmingham based artist, curator and producer, who creates artworks and installations through conversations with people and places, using a combination of photography, film and sound.
My background is in photography and the moving image and I have a BA (Hons) in Photographic Studies and completed an MPhil research degree in Digital Realist Montage (University of Derby) in 1997. I have spent several years teaching in higher education including at the University of Derby, the University of Sunderland, and the University of Auckland, in the areas of photography, design, and digital media.
I have taken part in several national and international residencies and undertaken numerous notable commissions. Some of the residencies include Durham Cathedral, The Innovation Centre Teesside, Jubilee Arts West Bromwich, Snibston Discovery Centre, and Medialab-Prado, Madrid. My work has been exhibited and presented across the UK and in many parts of the world including Germany, Taiwan, United States, Switzerland, Spain and Holland.
I am passionate about working alongside others as a creative collaborator and facilitator to explore new skills, ideas and possibilities. Over the last 1o years this work has included developing many projects for The Public in West Bromwich, working with Wildworks Theatre as production manager, and most recently as lead artist and curator on the Our Spake project.
