Living Memory is a 3-year Heritage Lottery Funded (HLF) project that explores, records and celebrates personal photography collections and life stories from across the Black Country. As part of the project we are developing a touring exhibition, a series of new films, hosting over 60 celebrations and sharing events, and producing a final project book that will be published in 2020.
I have devised the project with Sandwell Advocacy and it is partnered with Sandwell Community Archives, Dudley Archives, and Sandwell Council. In addition to the core HLF funding, the project is financially supported by Sandwell Council, the Black Country Living Museum, and The Grace Mary to Lion Farm Big Local fund, and with an additional generous donation from the Garfield Weston Foundation.
The project has it’s own dedicated Living Memory website where you can see some of the stories we have collected so far and read about all the latest activities and upcoming events.
